Infrastructure

A network standard that travels.

Infrastructure is noticed when it fails. We design the path from the circuit to the desk, document it, and repeat the standard when the next site opens.

From the internet connection to the desk

Internet, wiring, Wi-Fi, home access, and phones are one system. We label the closet so the next visit isn’t a treasure hunt.

  1. 01

    Circuit and firewall

The handoff and the firewall that owns it, in a configuration another engineer can read.

  2. 02

    Switching and cabling

Installation and wiring a closet can still explain a year later. Labels, paths, and a drawing that matches the rack.

  3. 03

    Wireless

Coverage where people work, verified in the rooms that matter.

  4. 04

    Remote access

VPN and secure access for people off site, with accounts that can be revoked.

  5. 05

    Business voice

Phones on the same plan as the network, so a voice issue has an owner and a diagram.

  6. 06

    The next site

Another location follows the same edge, wireless, and support path.

More than one address

The same standard at every location

When each office arrives with its own equipment and its own informal support, every issue is new. We use one firewall, Wi-Fi, and support path so the network is recognizable from site to site.

Network questions

What infrastructure work do you take?

Firewalls, switching, cabling, business Wi-Fi, VPN, and business voice. The design is documented so the closet and the drawing agree.

Do you install cabling and wireless?

Yes. Installation and wiring are part of the infrastructure practice, with coverage checked where people work.

Can one standard cover multiple sites?

Yes. Multi-site work uses one firewall, wireless, and support standard so an issue at one address is recognizable at the others.

Next step

Start with the network you have.

Closets, Wi-Fi coverage, and remote access are enough to begin. We document what is there before recommending a replacement.
